Dear friends,
The act of generosity claims a special place in the teachings of the Buddha and it is considered as the foundation of spiritual development or the beginning of the path to liberation. Generosity or chāga is identified as one of the essential attributes of a virtuous person (sappurisa). Alms given to recluses who follow the Noble Eightfold Path is said to yield great merit.
Further, taking care of monks who strive to follow the Noble Eightfold Path can be considered a duty of the laity as it could help towards preserving the Buddhasāsana for future generations.
Having that in mind, we kindly invite all of you, especially expatriate Sri Lankans, to make an offering to monks dedicated to practising the teachings of the Buddha. We hope you would avail yourself of this rare opportunity through this website.
