About Us

Our journey and who we are

We are a Group of Volunteers from Sri Lanka and Australia, who wish to provide the opportunity for people living mostly outside Sri Lanka, to offer alms to resident monks of Āranya Sēnāsana (Forest Monasteries) in Sri Lanka. These resident monks generally have minimum social contact with the lay people and they practice Buddhist meditation in little huts (or Kutis). Offering alms to such monks who have dedicated their lives to this practice is considered a meritorious deed (Good Karma). In doing so, one could also support the protection of Buddhist practice in Sri Lanka. It is with this intention that the danaparamitha.com website has been designed. The sole function of this website is to link the donors with the Āranya Sēnāsana. This website will NOT handle money or other finances related to almsgiving. Therefore, this website is unable to take any responsibility for any possible disputes arising between the parties involved in this process. Since the donors and the receiving party are involved in a charitable meritorious act, any room for disputes is not anticipated. However, this website will continue to improve communication between the donors and the Āranya Sēnāsana so that the alms giving would happen smoothly. Donors are expected to use this website mindfully and only for the indicated purpose. Please contact us at danaparamithawa@gmail.com if you need more information.
